Distant past: Steve Mayer grew up in Kansas City in a very active family. Sports were what we did. As soon as we could "escape" we did! University of Colorado in Boulder had it all, skiing, climbing, biking, hiking, 4X4ing, motorcycling, and some schooling here and there :). Steve soon feel in love with Cycling and in 3 years went from riding a K-Mart bike to being a Cat 1 Cyclist, racing around the mid-west and west coast. After college, Steve was road tripping as a climbing / cycling / Ski bum and found Salt Lake City and he has called that home ever since. .
Not So distant past: Steve's love of the Mountains lead him to Paragliding. He soon established the largest paragliding school in North America, Cloud 9 Paragliding. Flying paragliders and kites soon blended into kite surfing. Utah is the hotbed for snow kiting and Cloud 9 still remains a power house in both snow and water kiting as well. We soon became Cloud 9 Toys and naturally needed some snow skis so we began importing a very high end, well known European brand called Whitedot Freeride. Our shop in Draper, Utah is a blast. We have so many toys, every day is an adventure!
Here and now: We now do so many different things out of Cloud 9 that it's time to separate things a bit. eBikeUtah is Steve's newest craze. We have been following eBikes for some time now, but the quality, longevity of the batteries and consistent supply issues have always been a problem, UP TILL NOW!
By chance in 2012 Steve happend upon his first eMountain Bike. This was the start of something great. We are so excited to be offering these unreal machines. You really just have to try one to appreciate how damn cool they really are. Is is cheating... No, it's a different kind of riding. From just going further than you normally would, to pushing new limits uphill, to spicing up that old standard ride of yours, to commuting to work where before you couldn't because you got stinky with sweat, to riding to and from dinner / drinks with friends, to hauling your kids up some trails on a trail-a-bike or bike trailer, the possibilities are endless. eBikeUtah is sold through Cloud 9 Toys or you might hear "Aventure Toys Store" when we answer the pone. Yes, we have an identity crises :-). So if you call and we answer "Cloud 9" or "This is Steve" or "Adventure Toys Store", don't be too confused, just ask to chat about eBikes :). Each year we search for new toys and only seek out the best of the best. Over the past 25 years we've learned a few things, fist and formost, a garage full of broken gear does no one any good! We trive on referal business and our customers know we not only use the bikes we sell, but we stand behind them 100%. Just as importaint, we have done the homework as well to know what companies stand behind us so when you need a new battery in 2 or 3 years, the companies we work with are the ones that will actually be around to help us both out. Each of the brands we sell have a team of tech support, shipping departments, customer service lines, area managers, to not only help you out in a pinch, but help us keep your bike runing for years and years. We did away with "buy now" on line, we know your not going to click and buy a $2000-$12,000 bike, that's just not the way eBikes are sold. We want you to call us, see what colors we have in stock, make sure the size is rigth for you, then make you a screaming deal... Yes, we can sell for less! We always include the shipping, there is NO TAX if it's shipped out of state, and we normally toss in around $100 in free accessories like saddle bags, lights, bells, a helmet if you need one... lets talk!
